What’s on offer with AMI home and contents insurance?

AMI offers two levels of home and contents insurance, as well as a separate policy for landlords.

Premier house is essentially AMI’s replacement policy where, under certain conditions, you are covered for the cost of rebuilding your home and replacements of damaged, lost or stolen items. You will be covered up to a maximum amount, which is tailored to you and your house with AMI’s Sum Insured feature. Sum Insured calculates how much it would cost to rebuild your house, including all demolition, materials and labour costs. This policy also includes cover for recreational features of up to $40,000, key and lock cover of up to $1000, temporary accommodation of up to $20,000 for one-year, natural disaster cover and damage caused to other properties.

Whereas, AMI’s market value home and contents insurance will pay you the current value of your house and contents. You’ll also be eligible for the temporary accommodation feature, as well as cover to fix hidden gradual damage and damage done to someone else’s property, by your property. More cover is available upon request, but at an extra cost.

What’s on offer with AMI contents insurance?
There are three levels of content insurance with AMI – Advanced Contents, Premier Contents and Renters Insurance.

Renters Insurance is the lowest level of contents cover, protecting against the cost of up to $10,000 worth of items. You may be eligible for a student discount if you take out Young Drivers insurance with AMI.

Premiers Contents is AMI’s medium level of contents insurance, covering you for the cost of repairing or replacing major household items under ten years old, and most furnishings under five years old.

AMI’s Advanced Contents is AMI’s highest level of contents insurance. With its ‘new for old’ concept, most of your items will be repaired or replaced, regardless of how old they are. You’ll receive a 10% discount if you live in an apartment.
