What car insurance policies does Trade Me Insurance offer?

Trade Me Insurance offers customers a choice of three car insurance policies:

  • Full cover: for damage to your car and damage you cause to someone else’s car or property
  • Third party fire and theft: provides coverage if your car is damaged by fire or stolen and your liability for damage you cause to someone else
  • Third party: only for damage you cause just to someone else’s car or property

All levels of cover come with a no-claims bonus. Additionally Trade Me Insurance has a range of optional add-ons, such as roadside assistance, discounts for excluding under 25s, cover for accessories and modifications made to your vehicle, and excess-free glass cover.

What’s covered by Trade Me Insurance’s Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy?

Trade Me Insurance’s Comprehensive car insurance policy includes benefits such as:

  • Cover for the agreed value of the vehicle
  • Towing and temporary storage
  • One event one excess
  • Transport costs up to $500
  • Excess free if car is stolen from a locked garage
  • Natural disaster damage

It also has access to the full range of Trade Me Insurance’s optional add-ons, which include:

  • RoadWise roadside breakdown service
  • Windscreen and window glass excess buyout
  • No cover for under 25-year-old drivers discount
  • Accessories and modifications (up to $5000)
  • Rental vehicle hire after loss of use (up to $1000)

What’s covered by Trade Me Insurance’s Third Party, Fire & Theft Policy?

While this policy does not insure your car against damage caused during an event, it retains many of the same benefits as the Comprehensive policy. Benefits include:

  • Cover for the market value of the vehicle
  • Towing and temporary storage
  • One event one excess
  • Excess free if car is stolen from a locked garage
  • Natural disaster damage

Option to add:

What’s covered by Trade Me Insurance’s Third Party Policy?

Trade Me Insurance’s Third Party policy is a basic insurance policy that provides legal liability cover up to $20 million, legal costs up to $5000, and $100,000 for bodily injury including reparation. It has the option to add RoadWise Roadside assistance.
