What types of travel insurance does Tower offer?

Tower offers both domestic and international travel insurance. The company has five policies:

  • International Comprehensive: covers you for loss on overseas vacations
  • International Essentials: covers the basics when travelling overseas
  • International Frequent Flyer: cover for those who travel regularly
  • Domestic Comprehensive: covers you for loss on Kiwi vacations
  • Domestic Cancellation-only: covers you for cancellations during your Kiwi vacations

What does Tower’s International Comprehensive policy cover?

Tower’s International Comprehensive policy provides extra cover for overseas travellers. The main features of this policy include unlimited cover for journey cancellation, loss of deposits and overseas epidemics/pandemics.

Also:

  • Unlimited curtailment cover
  • $15,000 for travel delay
  • $15,000 for a missed connection
  • $5000 for loss of Frequent Flyer points
  • $10,000 for resumption of travel
  • $10,000 for journeys interrupted by strikes or hijacks
  • $3000 for additional expenses caused by terrorism
  • $15,000 cover for an accompanying person (if recommended by a doctor)
  • $2.5 million for personal liability cover

What’s covered by Tower’s International Essentials policy?

Tower’s International Essentials policy provides cover for the basics when travelling overseas. It is a cheaper option to Tower’s other international insurance policies, but provides limited coverage. It covers:

  • $5000 for journey cancellation
  • $5000 for loss of deposit
  • $5000 for curtailment
  • $500 for travel delay
  • $5000 for pandemics or epidemics
  • $250,000 for overseas medical expenses
  • $500 for emergency dental expenses
  • $10,000 for funeral expenses
  • $5000 (total) for personal baggage (or $750 per item)
  • $500,000 for personal liability

What does Tower’s International Frequent Flyer Policy cover?

Tower’s International Frequent Flyer policy provides the same level of cover as the International Comprehensive policy. However, the Frequent Flyer plan also provides cover for those who travel regularly over the course of a year. It covers trips taken throughout a 12-month period, up to a maximum of 60 days per trip.

What’s covered by Tower’s Domestic Comprehensive policy?

The main features of Tower’s Domestic Comprehensive policy include cover for: medical expenses, accidental death or injury and personal liability.

Also:

  • $15,000 for journey cancellation
  • Travel delay expenses up to $2000
  • $15,000 for epidemics/pandemics
  • $1000 for emergency dental expenses
  • $5000 for funeral expenses
  • Personal baggage – $6000 (total) or $1000 (per item)
  • Rental vehicle excess of $6000
  • Up to $15,000 for additional expenses

What’s covered by Tower’s Domestic Cancellation-only policy?

Tower’s Cancellation-only policy provides cover up to $600 journey cancellation. Another $600 cover is available in the event of an epidemic or pandemic.
