A SuperGold card is a super perk! But did you know it can help you save on your phone and broadband plans? Find out how, with Canstar.

A SuperGold card is packed full of super benefits and discounts beyond just free public transport. It can even help you stay connected by earning exclusive discounts on phone and broadband plans.

What’s on offer?

When Canstar first published this story, back in 2021, Spark, One NZ and 2degrees each offered deals for seniors. However, of the major telcos, only 2degrees still offers seniors any discounts.

In addition, smaller player Zeronet offers considerable discounts to SuperGold card holders.

2degrees

2degrees offers a range of phone and broadband discounts for SuperGold members:

  • $10 off any Pay Monthly phone plan
  • $5 off any broadband plan
  • A further $10 off any broadband plan if you bundle mobile + broadband

Zeronet

Zeronet's discounts for SuperGold members include:

  • 20% off any of Zeronet's phone plans
  • Discounts of up to 20% across Zeronet's broadband plans
  • A further $5 off any broadband plan if you bundle mobile + broadband

I don’t have a SuperGold card, how can I get one?

When you reach the age of eligibility for NZ Super, the government will send you a SuperGold card. So, you shouldn't have to apply for a card.

Even if you're not eligible for NZ Super, you may still be eligible for a SuperGold card, if you are 65+ and a New Zealand resident. You can find out more details here.
