The brands rated are listed below in order of best overall satisfaction.

1. Simple Green

Simple Green has won two out of three of our most recent Outdoor Window Cleaners Awards. And this year it cements its position at the top of our award ratings with a perfect set of reviews from its customers, including for Effectiveness and Value for Money.

Notably, it's the only window cleaner brand in our ratings to achieve a 5-Star score. So if you're after clean windows, the answer is crystal clear: Simple Green.

To keep things simple, Simple Green has one outdoor window cleaner in its range: Hi-reach Exterior Window Cleaner, which promises a streak-free finish.

The hose-spray dispenser is powerful enough to reach second-storey windows and the formula is non-toxic and ammonia free.

2. Wet & Forget

Wet & Forget also has just one outdoor, window-cleaning product: Window Witch.

The product's cleaning ingredients dissolve grease and grime, while water softeners and a sheeting agent work to ensure a streak-free finish.

The product is available in a 2l hose-spray dispenser that provides an eight-metre reach and coverage for up to 600m² of glass.

Window Witch is also available in 2l refill packs.

3. 30 Seconds

30 Seconds Window Wonder Outdoor Glass Cleaner not only removes dust, grease and grime from glass, it's also suitable for other hard non-porous surfaces, such as stainless steel and chrome.

Key features include:

  • Hose-end applicator powerful enough to reach second-floor windows
  • No squeegeeing or scrubbing
  • Streak-free formula
  • Able to reach second-storey windows
  • Also available in 5l refill concentrate packs

Choosing the right outdoor window cleaner for you

It's as clear as sparkling glass that, when it comes to rating window cleaning products, one quality is paramount: their effectiveness.

In our survey, nearly half (46%) of respondents base their satisfaction with their choice of window cleaning product on how effectively it cleans.

As always, Value for Money is important, too – cited by nearly a quarter (24%) of those in our awards survey.

And, of course, Ease of Use is also an important factor, as spray applicators need to be easy to control and powerful enough to reach second-storey windows.

Here's the full rundown of what Kiwi consumers say are the main things they consider when rating their outdoor window cleaners:

  • Effectiveness: 46%
  • Value for Money: 24%
  • Ease of Use: 19%
  • Packaging: 11%
