What does AA Pet Insurance offer?

AA Pet Insurance offers three plans covering three animal categories: dogs, cats, and kittens and puppies. The plans are: Essentials Plan, Comprehensive Plan, and Accident Only Plan.

What’s covered by AA Pet Insurance for dogs?

AA Pet Insurance offers three plan options for dogs. These include:

  • Essentials: Maximum cover of $7,000 which includes injury, illness, specialist treatment, patella conditions, cruciate ligament conditions, alternative therapy, funeral costs, emergency boarding fees for owner hospitalisation, lost pet and holiday cancellation. Dental care is an optional benefit. Policy-holders pay 20% of each claim.
  • Comprehensive: Maximum cover of $11,000 which includes everything in the Essentials plan, plus routine care. Policy-holders pay 20% of each claim.
  • Accident Only: Maximum cover of $5,000 which includes injury, specialist treatment, patella conditions, cruciate ligament conditions, alternative therapy, funeral costs – though only if caused by an accident.

What’s covered by AA Pet Insurance for kittens and puppies?

Starter Cover for Puppies and Kittens is designed to help with unexpected vet bills, accidental injuries and illnesses while you’re settling your pet into its new home. It includes:

  • Six weeks free cover, with a $100 excess per event. After this period, you must choose one of the cat/dog policies listed above.
  • Valid for six weeks from the time you activate your cover.
  • If any accidental injuries happen after you activate, you’ll be covered straight away. You are covered for illness after the first week.
  • All claims to a max $1500.

 

What’s not covered by AA Pet Insurance?

AA Pet Insurance has some exclusions around animals of a certain age, as well as animals with pre-existing conditions. Policies do not cover damage to property, people or other animals caused by your pet, or for treatment as a result of negligent owner behaviour.
