What’s on offer with NZI’s home insurance?
Distinction
NZI’s premium product. Automatic benefits include alternative accommodation cover, hidden gradual damage cover up to $10,000, matching items and landscaping up to $100,000.
If your home is damaged due to an event other than a natural disaster, NZI will pay the reasonable repair or rebuild cost even if it’s more than the total sum insured.
Eschelon
Automatic additional benefits include cover for alternative accommodation and your legal liability for bodily injury to others.
Essence
Offers protection for your home up to a maximum specified amount. Also covers for loss of rent and landlord’s fixtures and fittings.
Houseowners
Provides cover for certain specified events and offers both replacement value and present value options for your house, up to a specified amount.

Distinction
Covers for accidental loss or damage, including repairs or replacement cover for most items. Automatic benefits include: alternative accommodation, contents in storage and transit, and home office coverage.
Eschelon
Covers for accidental loss or damage, including repairs or replacement cover for most items. Automatic benefits include: alternative accommodation, contents in storage and transit, and home office coverage.
Essence
Cover includes alternative accommodation, keys and locks, and your legal liability for property damage.
Houseowners
Basic insurance that provides limited cover for certain specified events.
